The Landhaus Kössel is ideally situated for visitors interested in exploring Bavaria – its castles, lakes, mountains and the beautiful Bavarian countryside. King Ludwig II's Neuschwanstein Castle is only 5 km away and Linderhof, his second castle, is only about 50 km to the east. Germany's highest mountain, Zugspitze, is close by on the Austrian border, and you can take a cable car from Garmisch-Partenkirchen all the way to its summit at 2,962m (9,720 ft). A day trip to Lake Constance can include visits to historic Lindau and the floral splendor of the garden island of Mainau.
The Landhaus makes an ideal base for hikers, and snow sports are close at hand in the winter.
The Landhaus Kössel is also ideal for a relaxing rest. You can take it easy and enjoy your view of the Alps from your balcony or in the garden. You may go for a swim before breakfast in our very own nature pool in the garden and relax in one of our Saunas in our spa area.
Fitness facilities are available in Füssen and a luxurious thermal spa is located close by in Schwangau.
European Castles Tours (formerly Castles of the World Tours) has picked the Landhaus Kössel as the ideal home base hotel for its Bavarian tours, and uses it for both its Bavarian Castles and Christmas Markets Tours. Tour participants may book to arrive early or prolong their stay to do more exploring on their own.
European Castles Tours also offers Day Tours that conveniently depart from and return to the Landhaus.
